ABM Bridge Systems are the sole licensee for the Matière precast concrete arch bridge and culvert system in Ireland, Northern Ireland, UK, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland.

The system applies to arch and box–shaped structures.

This patented construction technique provides engineering solutions for tunnels, underpasses, flyovers and bridge applications.

With design and casting of the structures carried out off site, and most structures assembled and completed within one week; ABM Bridge Systems uniquely offers huge competitive advantage in terms of cost savings, speed of construction and reduced site management.

The fast pace of construction brings a swift solution to our clients,with minimal environmental or traffic disruption.

Since this technology was first developed in France in the 1980s, more than 10,000 installations have been completed in 20 countries around the world. ABM Bridge Systems have completed in excess of 450 structures to date with more than 50 structures completed in each year since.

The arch and box-shaped structures may be configured in several combinations– two–element, three–element, four–element and multi–cell. When compared with traditional steel and concrete structures, this method of using reinforced concrete structures has distinct cost and technical advantages.

The Opti Cadre and Arch systems are the only types available that are entirely precast.

When compared with cast-in-place structures, installation time is significantly reduced and therefore minimises overall roadway downtime.

The system‘s flexible geometry allows for the accommodation of a multitude of clearance profiles.

Motorway and railway underpasses and overpasses

Water conduits and hydraulic works

Sealed underground chambers such as water retention basins and sealed rooms.
