ABM are delighted that they have successfully installed their first bridges in Slovakia using Matière Opti-Cadre precast concrete portals.
This is also the first application of the modular precast box shaped configuration by ABM in Central Europe. ABM provided solutions for Skanska and Vahostav who are in a partnership in delivering this project which provide 4.0 m to 5.0 m span structures across live rivers. Both structures were assembled in rail possessions and were installed on a phased basis to facilitate continuous operation of the railway on at least one track.
Each installation of each half took approximately 5 hours including the delivery of precast concrete bridge edge beams on the last rings precast concrete wings walls with copings.
The new intersection Stupava was opened to public on the first of August 2011. It is the crossing of the old D2 with the new constructed D4.
The rail bridge RB01, which carries the rail line over a local farm road, is in close proximity of the main structure on this section, the bridge across the Maritca river. The bridge RB01 is replacing an old existing bridge at the end of its lifecycle which was confirmed by several borehole drills samples tested in a laboratory.
continueThe road bridge carries over a 2nd class road over a double rail electrified track. The existing bridge structure was a three span bridge of precast pre-stressed beams of the length 30m sitting on in-situ columns.
