The development of the Community Nursing Unit at Clonskeagh for the HSE is now nearing completion. This exciting 4,586m² project, one of 5 CNUs being constructed on a design & build basis by ABM for the HSE, consisted of the demolition of two existing single-storey buildings and the construction of a community nursing unit at the south western corner of the site which lies on the grounds of the existing Clonskeagh hospital.
The project comprised a part two-storey, part three-storey circulation tower, two L-shaped wings - one two-storey and one three-storeys high to the south and north. The unit contains an imposing entrance hall, dining, day and treatment rooms, 100 bed-spaces in single and shared rooms with ensuite bathrooms, support facilities. Site works included adjustments to an existing private and 29 car parking spaces, new garden courtyards, service yard, service compound and ESB sub-station.
Located on the existing site of a derelict 19th Century British Army Barracks, ABM is currently undertaking enabling works in preparation for future refurbishment works which are planned for the historic barracks building.
