ABM’s safety management procedures are overseen by Sean Harvey, an external safety consultant. As an additional safety management measure, we ensure that all ABM Directors and senior project personnel attend regular training courses on construction safety.
We prepare detailed risk assessment documentation as well as a site-specific safety plan for every project. All members of the ABM site management team, staff and sub-contractors are fully briefed on the safety plan during site induction procedures.
All ABM sub-contractors are required to produce site-specific safety plans and they must furnish us with copies of Safe Pass and appropriate CSCS cards before beginning work on a site.
We carry out site safety audits on a weekly basis, and as part of that auditing process, action lists are drawn up and timeframes for resolving safety issues are agreed. In September 2007, ABM received Safe-T-Cert. accreditation for our in–house safety management system.
Located on the existing site of a derelict 19th Century British Army Barracks, ABM is currently undertaking enabling works in preparation for future refurbishment works which are planned for the historic barracks building.
ABM has recently completed 2 no. Community Nursing Units. The 100-bed Clonskeagh development consisted of the demolition of two existing single-storey buildings and the construction of a community nursing unit at the south western corner of the site.
