Work is currently underway to reinstate the link between the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways and bring steam trains back to tracks which closed in the 1930s.

As part of the project, ABM Precast Solutions are providing the main contractor, Carillion Regional Civil Engineering, with a number of ‘one-off’ bridge deck beams to carry an extension to the Britannia Bridge in Porthmadog which forms part of the final link between the two railway systems. The revitalised steam railway is expected to open to the public in 2009.
