As the construction industry becomes more and more aware of society’s environmental concerns, ABM Precast Solutions have teamed with regional ready mixed concrete supplier C & G Concrete to offer a wider range of eco-friendly concrete solutions.
Using recycled materials such as GGBS (from the steel industry) and PFA (from electricity generation) can reduce the concrete’s embodied CO2 by as much as 50%.
With both of these secondary cementitious materials available within a few miles of the company’s Tuxford plant, ‘material miles’ are also minimised.
As well as these environmental benefits, using these secondary materials can also enhance the durability of concretes helping to increase the design life of the ultimate structure.
Along with GGBS and PFA, the close relationship with C & G has enabled ABM Precast Solutions to offer a greatly increased range of concrete mix designs using materials such as limestone fines, micro silica and metakaolin along with a wider range of locally sourced aggregates.
All this means ABM are now even better placed to offer the best Concrete Solution.
