As the countdown to the 2012 Olympics in London runs below 1200 days, ABM Precast Solutions continues to manufacture significant quantities of precast concrete for the project.
Following the supply of 366 reinforced concrete beams for the High Meads Loop Enclosure tunnel roof (under the Athletes’ Village), the focus has now moved to the vehicle containment parapets needed for the large number of bridges crossing the web of railway lines which run around, through, over and under the Olympic Park and Athletes’ Village.
With hundreds of units currently in production, great attention is being paid to the architects’ and developer’s requirement for a park wide style. Careful control of concrete mixes and precise, custom made formwork result in consistent colour and finish throughout the works.
Working with the key civil engineering contractors on the development, including Hochtief, Norwest Holst, Morgan Est and Volker Fitzpatrick we’re playing a key part in achieving the a safe and attractive venue for London’s great event.
