One of the country’s fastest moving road construction projects is underway on the A46 east of Nottingham, with 28km of dual carriageway being constructed to improve the route from Newark to Widmerpool. Contractor Balfour Beatty is working within an ambitious timescale to deliver the project on time and ABM are playing a key part in the scheme.
Prestressed beam’s are being used in the majority of the underbridges on the route with the first, Stragglethorpe junction recently installed. 18 Y6 beams each 22m long were installed in a two day operation carried out in April.
