Requirements
This section forms part of the south west segment of the motorway network under construction around Prague and is between the suburbs of Vestec and Lahovice.
The total length of this section of dual two lane motorway, is 8.34km, which incorporates 27 structures including a 236mlong bridge which spans over the Prague - Vrane railway line and the Vltava River.
On the 21st of April 2009, ABM Mosty completed the installation of the last of the three green bridges on this project for our client Alpine CZ. The bridges are specifically designed to maintain the natural habitat of wild animals and allow the safe passage over the new built motorway when they migrate. The complete scope of works, which consists of detailed design and drawings of the main precast structure manufacturing, delivering and installing of the structure, was finished two weeks prior to our original program.
The road to success was complicated by a very cold winter this year but this did not stop ABM from casting the elements and even installing the first bridge in January when the temperature were oscillating around mins 10 deg. The structures are the first Matiere twin span structures in the country with a span of 33metres.
